I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the Orange & Blue Tourney and am very happy to see so many Rballers out there. I hope to be more successful @ the Harbor Island Tourney.:?

P.S. I hope to play Evans again, I have a little present for him...

I just want to say that I am thrilled to see this forum on our website, and to see all the funny creative people and ideas posting here. I have been a racquetball discussion group junkie for over a decade now, and it is exciting to meet a bunch of different people, and share ideas about my favorite pasttime. I hope more people become aware of the forum, and it would be very awesome if we could get some non-FRA members aware of it and on here posting, and gain a little strength and unity in our state membership numbers.

How about a poster campaign!

Not like you to say much less than a couple hundred words Kathy.  Or are you just letting folks get involved before you let yourself go?

I hope that some good ideas are exchanged and we can learn from each other. We need to pull together and share ideas, to help each other. If we can find ways to share our great sport with those around us, we can have more fun and get more courts. Increasing the number of players, more players having fun and telling others, means more investment dollars will be coming to accommodate the demand.

I vote first for increasing word of mouth advertising. If you are having fun, getting a workout, working off some stress, making some new friends, or all of the above.....tell people. Don't keep good information to yourself. Invite friends, family, co-workers, people that you meet that have not played in years, etccc  to join you in a friendly game of racquetball.

Carry around an extra racquet and eye protection for those occasions where you find someone that is watching you playing. I am willing to supply these are dealer cost. Just call me or email me. http://www.chucksfitness.com

Talk to kids and their parents. Racquetball is a sport that can be played and enjoyed by both young and not so young, alike. Families that play together, stay together. Sounds corny, but I see families playing and having fun.

I look forward to other ideas.

I want to see racquetball bigger than it was in the 80's. What do you think?

I think it's great Chuck, depending on a person's personality and time.  My experience has been that different people are good at different things.  But being friendly and approachable as a person that plays a game could probably not go wrong as far as inviting others to participate.  That sounds like a great approach to always keep in the forefront.

For the people that may have less personal time, or are a little more reserved in the way they deal with others, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. For example, asking the programmer if you can promote this forum is one way. I have attached a simple flyer to this post that anybody can download. It is just a simple poster that gives this website address. If you could convince someone to post it near the courts, it is another way to invite people to participate.

I am going to talk to our programmer and see if he will let me put up the flyer that promotes this newsgroup. If you think you have a good place to put up a flyer that invites people to check out this forum and I can design something specific for you, let me know. I think another good sign would say how many calories it burns. I will try and come up with one like that in the near future and post it here.

Hi Kathy,

I am sorry you were not able to make it up for my tournament this weekend. I hope that you can make the next one. Not sure when that will be, depends on my trips. Next one is beginning of December to Hong Kong. Second time this year. That is a longggg flight, actually combination of flights. But better than taking the ship.

I would love to get a sheet with calorie information. I think I saw one on USARacquetball.com or MeetandPlay.com, I don't remember. I am getting older. Don't tell anyone. It would be repetitive, everyone is already telling me.

I hope that we can get some other people talking up the sport of racquetball.

The smallest good deed, is better than the grandest intention. I don't know who the author of that saying is, but I love it.

Take care,

Chuck

Hi Chuck. I have been hearing for several years now that you are a great host and tournament director.  I hope to make a tournament of yours at some point.

As for the calorie burning information, I just came across your post today.  It should not take me long to come across something. I'll post it when I do.

If I don't hear from you, enjoy the holiday season, and the trip to Hong Kong.

hey Chuck,

I liked the tourney alot. Great environment.  I didn't play well at all but it was still fun.

Judd and Darcey did a great job and I hope to see more of the tourneys they do.

I'm going to play in some more so maybe I'll do better.
