With over 325 players in the event it looked like we were doomed.  That's 50 more players than last year, which ran late all weekend, and seemed to be maxed out.

The Cali natives were poised and ready to tell us "rookies" what we were doing wrong.  With our "lack of experience" running an event as big as the WOR Championships, there was serious concern that the wheels would come off.  They expected us to run 4 to 5 hours late.  Naysayers about a Florida team coming to Cali to run this event were circling like vultures even before the first day.

No chance.

Mike Bernstein, Chris Young and Jason Tackett ran the desk flawlessly all weekend.  No dead court time.  We packed 9 matches into 8 courts each hour on Thursday, Friday and Saturday - and still ran on time or ahead.  I scheduled each day at 120% of actual capacity.  Seriously.

The players witnessed the effort and urgency from the desk to stay on time, and in turn did their part.

Mike was in the hot seat all weekend - assigning courts and looking ahead.  Chris and Jason were right there with him, doing what it takes to make the system work.  Collectively  - they were an unstoppable machine.  Relentless.

In front of the whole world those three kids kicked some a**. They represented. I am really proud of them.  All of the Florida ballers should be too.

I didnt get to watch any matches all weekend.  Maybe someone else can post the Florida results and accomplishments on the court.
